Business & Community Development Manager

Our award-winning agency is currently seeking a Business and Community Development Manager to join our team at our Port St Lucie, Florida office. This is a flexible position and an immediate hire. This position reports to the CEO. The Business and Community Development Manager will be responsible for attending a variety of networking events across the Treasure Coast, including Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin Counties. The purpose is to generate new business for our agency, establish and maintain professional relationships, and preserve our community reputation. The right candidate should be people-oriented, friendly, outgoing, positive, organized, enjoys being out in the community networking and meeting others, comfortable speaking in groups, have dependable transportation, and a flexible schedule.

This position will require many hours out of the office and in the community sometimes before work hours or after work hours, and a few hours in the office during the days and times of Monday-Friday 8:30am to 5pm at our Port St. Lucie office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attends networking events throughout the Treasure Coast, including breakfasts, lunches, and meetings that could fall on any day of the week (including the occasional weekend) in the morning, afternoon, or evening hours.
  • Generates new business through networking to meet monthly goals.
  • Keeps detailed notes in our software.
  • Meets with CEO weekly.
  • Makes calls/emails as needed throughout the week to generate leads or followup with prospects to set appointments.
  • Works with organizations to gain speaking engagements and involvement for the agency.
  • Find opportunities for the agency for business and community development.
  • Aides in preserving the agency’s reputation in the community.
  • Assists with content for the agency’s social media channels and newsletter.
  • Participates in the agency’s internal activities and events, as well as community related events such as volunteering.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be able to initiate conversations, meet new people, and cultivate new and existing relationships.
  • Time management skills are a must! This role will be required to arrive on time for events, maintain a full schedule of events, and coordinate the execution of other assigned tasks.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Be comfortable speaking in groups and crowds (large and small).
  • Must have a flexible schedule.
  • Must have reliable transportation. Some days may start in Vero in the morning and end in Stuart in the evening.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, but not required.

SALARY & BENEFITS

  • This position provides a base salary of $25,000 with benefits (listed below) + monthly commission earned from sales. This structure offers an opportunity to earn a great salary range $35,000 – $50,000.  Sales goals will be set monthly and reviewed quarterly.  All organizations and events are paid for by the agency.
